This year's Challenge kicks off today at Ngee
Ann City's Civic Plaza. 400 contestants will try to outlast one another
to win the grand prize of a brand new Subaru Impreza WRX 2.5L Manual
worth $80,000. |

The Challenge is named The Regional Face-off
as it is also open to about 40 regional contestants from Hong Kong,
Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. The qualifying rounds for regional
contestants were conducted by Motor Image Enterprise in the respective
regions. Motor Image is taking care of all travel, accommodation,
transport and other arrangements relating to the overseas contestants. |

An ‘invitation to call’ was aired on
Gold 90.5FM, Class 95FM and 987FM during the qualifying period
from Monday 29th September 2008 to Friday 31st October 2008. All
of the three stations’ hotlines 6 6911905, 6 6911950 and 6
6911987 were opened to listeners for qualification. Listeners
had to call in personally. |

Final contestants will be decided randomly
by lucky draw among the registered qualifiers today, Saturday 8th
November 2008, at 11am. Each final contestant will be assigned a
contestant number, which will be worn on Tshirts provided by MediaCorp.
There are a total of ten cars being used for the Challenge. |
