The Neptune restaurant closes after 34 years in business

The Neptune restaurant closes for good at the end of today's dinner function.
The restaurant is located on the seventh floor of Overseas Union House at Collier Quay. The building will be demolished and a new 18-storey office building will be erected in its place by late 2009.
The 1,500-seat theatre restaurant was opened in 1972.1
In 1986, it added topless dancing into its performances.1
The Neptune, which is run by Meritus Hotels and Resorts, is the biggest Chinese restaurant in town. Besides providing banquet services for private functions in the evenings, it also serves a la carte Cantonese dishes, such as Dim Sum at lunchtime.2
