Undersea Cables Damaged Off
Taiwan Affecting Services |

Due to an earthquake off Taiwan late
last evening, the undersea cables were damaged resulting in slow
Internet access. |
|
Our customers can be assured that our
topmost priority is to quickly restore services and we have
deployed all available resources to address the situation as soon
as possible. |
|
Since yesterday, we have started
re-routing the affected Internet traffic to other routes. Our
engineers have been working round-the-clock and are doing their
best to rectify the matter as soon as possible. |
|
We sincerely apologise for the
inconvenience caused. An update will be provided as soon as we
can. |

Due to an earthquake off Taiwan late
last evening, the undersea cables were damaged resulting in slower
Internet access. |
|
The transmission of two channels on
StarHub Digital Cable - Hallmark Channel and TV5MONDE*, were down
since mid-morning as well. |
|
Our overseas content partners have confirmed
that the earthquake off Taiwan caused the transmission breakdowns. Viewers
can continue to enjoy the other 93 channels carried on StarHub's digital
platform. |
|
Our customers can be assured that our

round-the-clock since late Tuesday to re-route the affected
Internet traffic to other undersea cables and we are pleased to
say that 80% of our Internet bandwidth has been successfully
diverted. Our engineers will continue to do their best to rectify
the matter as soon as possible. |

Slow Internet access to overseas
websites due to earthquake in Taiwan |

Customers may experience slow Internet
access to overseas websites. This is due to an earthquake that
occurred in Taiwan on 26 December 2006. |
|
We are working closely with our
submarine cable consortium members to restore services as soon as
possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. |

Restoring services affected by
Taiwan quake |

SingTel has activated a Command Centre
to monitor and manage the situation. |
|
The focus of the Command Centre is to
restore affected services progressively and as quickly as
possible. The affected services are: |
1. Slow Internet
access
2. Disrupted BlackBerry service
3. Disrupted private data network services for some corporate
customers |
|
For your information, all voice
traffic to Taiwan has been normalised although there may be some
congestion. |
|
We continue to work closely with other
submarine cable consortium members to restore and repair the
damaged cables as soon as possible. |
|
We would like to apologise for any
inconvenience caused by the Taiwan quake. |

Internet access to international
websites normalised; BlackBerry service fully restored;
progressive restoration of cable traffic |
|
SingTel has restored more services
affected by the Taiwan quake. |
|
SingTel's customers can surf, e-mail
and perform online transactions. The SingTel BlackBerry service
has also been fully restored. |
|
As part of our cable traffic
redirection effort, traffic to the US is being re-routed via
Europe or Australia as well as using other channels such as
satellite links and landlines. |
|
We will continue to provide updates as
more services are restored. |
