A gifted musician with ardour for his art,
American trumpeter Chris Botti will bring his Grammy-nominated jazz
sounds to Victoria Theatre for a special evening filled with music from
the heart and soul. |

The 43 year old is touring in support of his
8th album, To Love Again which debuted in the Billboard Top 20 and
released by SONYBMG in 2005. |
|
Botti's smooth trumpeting has earned him
frequent comparisons to Miles Davis and Chet Baker. A star in his own
right, Botti is passionate in branding a new style of jazz, one readily
accessible to all. |
|
"My music is more reined-in, because it's in
a pop format. But this atmospheric quality is what I really loved about
jazz, and I've tried to marry that feel to the textures and melodies you
might hear on a record by Peter Gabriel or Bryan Ferry." |

Backed by a powerful band, the concert will
showcase inimitable smooth tones from this exceptional instrumentalist,
composer and performer, who since the release of his first solo album in
1995, has created a volume of work that have earned him both critical
acclaim and mainstream appreciation. |

Botti's stellar resume includes
collaborations with icons such as Paul Simon, Sting, Joni Mitchell, Josh
Groban and many more. His 2004 release "When I Fall in Love" went gold
after a break from Oprah Winfrey. He landed on People magazine's 50 Most
Beautiful People list that year. |

The Singapore gig will be Botti's first in
Asia. He will also perform in Philippines, Hong Kong and Indonesia. |
