Clifford Pier in Collyer Quay closed for
business on 1 Apr 2006. |

The Pier, which had been functioning as a
public landing point, was closed to facilitate the construction of
Marina Barrage by the Public Utilities Board1. |

Ferry and Launch Services at Clifford Pier
have been relocated at Marina South Pier at 31, Marina Coastal
Drive Singapore 018988 from 1 Apr 20061. |

|
Customs, immigration and quarantine
facilities will be available at the Marina South Pier and immigration
clearance procedures will remain unchanged1. |

A new bus service (proposed Service 402)
will be introduced to serve the Marina South Pier. SBS Transit will
release detailed information nearer the date of the opening1. |

Clifford Pier was built in 1931 by the
Public Works Department. Frank Dorrington Ward was then Chief Architect
of the PWD. He and his assistants produced a neat and simple design with
an interesting roof structure consisting of concrete arched trusses in a
pleasing riband form2. |
