The ducks are taking to the water in Marina Bay! - but, no,
it's not The Straits Times' little rubber duckies! This
time, it's two huge yellow ducks making their way around the
tourist attractions in the City Hall/Suntec City areas.
|
|
These ducks roll on four wheels on land and than waddle in
water like - well, like ducks in water!

|
Singapore Duck Tours brought in two amphibious vehicles
called LARCs* with the blessing and support of the Tourist
Promotion Board. It took nearly a year for the green light
to be given.
|
|
Ducktours is an established product and has been proven to
be highly popular in the States, Europe and Australia. The
USA Coast Guards estimated that more than 1 million
passengers ride the Duck every year.
|
|
This is the first and only amphibious attraction in Asia.
The fun begins when you board the Duck - an authentic
American Vietnam War Hero. It is a chance of a lifetime
riding on a military amphibious craft.

|
Tickets for the DuckTours go for S$33 (adult) and S$17
(child 4 - 12). Singapore citizens and permanent residents
who book before 30 June 2002 get to purchase them at S$23.10

The ticket entitles you to participate in a 75-minute wacky
show-on-wheels. You not only get to enjoy the ride and the
view, but also to learn some local history. The Duck Tour
takes you pass Tan Kim Seng Fountain, the Cenotaph, Lim Bo
Seng Memorial, Victoria Theatre, Supreme Court, City Hall,
St Andrew's Cathedral, and War Memorial Park before waddling
in the waters in Marina Bay starting from the Benjamin
Sheares Bridge, going pass the new Theatres On The Bay,
Merlion Park and Clifford Pier.
