The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) has launched a new Internet portal which aims to be a one-stop centre to cater for all military personnel - from national servicemen and active servicemen to those waiting to enlist. The website was launched on 1 Apr 2001 by DPM and Defence Minister Tony TAN.

  While you are at this portal, you can also browse through the other sections, such as entertainment, lifestyle, sports, career, travel and education. It also provides free email service as well as unified messaging service (UMS), forums and chatrooms.

  Here are some of the things the new portal lets you do online:

  - apply for exit permits 

  - book IPPT test dates

  - register for national service

  - claim NSmen pay

  - do business with Mindef

  Soon, servicemen can even order their personal equipment online in their eMart section.
